Bruce reports that the work is going slower than anticipated due to some surprises the contractor found under the old siding. Expecting to find plywood as the backing for the siding, they found plywood of varying thicknesses, or no plywood at all, or even, unbelievably, drywall! Fortunately, not much dry rot was discovered. While that saves us some money, the additional plywood needed negates that advantage.
Because of the uncertainty about what they’ll find under the old siding, the rate at which the projects proceeds is unknown. Stay tuned for updates in the coming weeks.
